Dogs are certainly man’s best friend, and we don’t want our pets dying because of bad dog food or pet food.

Diamond Pet Foods is a pet food maker based in South Carolina, that had some of their pet food contaminated by a mold called aflatoxin which resulted in the deaths of dozens of dogs nationwide.

The company is setting up a fund to reimburse pet owners for the loss of their dog, veterinarian bills and the cost of any unreturned contaminated food. That’s good to know but, its not going to bring back “good old Sam or Spotty, right?”

The truth is, many dog owners do not realize that there is a lot of bad dog food out there, and the results start to manifest later on in the form of canine ailments and diseases. Many dog owners are slowly killing their dogs with all that bad dog food they use.

There is a story of a man who in his search for the truth about the unexplained death of his dog, accidentally uncovers a multi billion dollar cover up responsible for 87% of dog deaths. You can read about this and the truth about commercial dog food and its link to the deaths of thousands of dogs across the US every day.

Have you heard about that 9/11 Video Game? The one where you try shoot jet planes from crashing into the Twin Towers, these jets are supposedly piloted by terrorists and well… you know the story. Your game objective is simple, shoot down the jets before they crash into their targets.

While there many who are in uproar over what they call an insensitivity of the game creators about the plot of their product, there are also those who defend it saying it is just a game, no different from any other video game created such as video games about WW II, Desert Storm, etc.

The 9/11 Video Game is called New York Defender, and goes by catch phrases like ” For those of you who wish we had a chance to defend ourselves on 9/11″, and “Go Beyond Your Powerlessness, and Use Your Mouse to Fight Back”. Evidently, it is indeed based on 9/11.

I checked it out and found it really silly; but to many people it is more than just simply silly, but tasteless and disturbing how someone can create something that made trivial a disaster that took many innocent lives.

Here is how the 9/11 video game looks.

I am not going to post the URL to the game because it will only make them benefit from it, in the form of website traffic that could even generate revenue for the website owner or game owner. But you can easily find it if you do a search on a search engine. It is out there… the question is, do you want it to remain out there for people to find, and play? What do you think?

Software giant Microsoft  intends to acquire Yahoo, in what is referred to as an unsolicited bid of $44.6 billion.

But to give you a background, the search engine wars have been raging for some years now and search engines are indeed big business, given the millions and millions of people who use a search engine everyday to find information online. But the true winner in the search engine industry has obviously been Google despite being around only in recent years. Yahoo has been the old giant that has been around much longer, but Yahoo has lost the race to Google, and Microsoft who is in itself big in software is looking at going head to head with Google and apparently they see the acquisition of Yahoo as the way in that direction.

For online marketers, this is good news as it would be good to have a reliable search engine advertising alternative to Google AdWords.

Google Adwords is an advertising platform that enables businesses of all sizes to purchase highly targeted ads that appear across a wide network of participating websites and on the search engine itself, and Google provides its advertisers with vast amounts of data on how those ads are performing. While Yahoo and Microsoft have similar advertising platforms, they have struggled in this regard and Google is still widely regarded as the technology and market leader in search engine advertising.

So it would really be good to see Microsoft and Yahoo give Google a good run, but will they really kick Google butt by setting up shop together? Le’s go to the numbers.

For search engine searches, Google enjoys a 58 percent market share for searches, while Yahoo has 23 percent market share and Microsoft, a small 10 percent market share. As far as search is concerned, neither Yahoo nor Microsoft come close to competing with Google. However what may be interesting to watch would be banner and text advertising on website publishers that belong to a merged Yahoo-Microsoft advertising network.

As internet marketer Perry Marshall mentioned, “expecting Microsoft and Yahoo to be better than Google by getting together is like pairing up two people each with an IQ of 75 and putting them in a spelling bee and hoping that together they’re a 150 genius.”

After having been prohibited in the US since 1912, Absinthe Kickboxer full movie download baraka dvd is now available in the US. The top selling brand that has been available to American Asbinthe drinkers is Lucid Absinthe, a traditional French-made Absinthe Verte (Green Absinthe), whose formula was first approved in 2006 and the product approved for sale in the US early in 2007. Lucid Absinthe compared to its European cousins is at a tamer 62% alcohol volume.

What is Absinthe?
Absinth is a distilled and highly alcoholic (usually 45 to 93 percent) anise-flavored spirit derived from herbs including the flowers and leaves of the medicinal plant Artemisia absinthium, also called Grand Wormwood or Absinth Wormwood. Absinthe is typically green or clear and is often referred to as la Fée Verte or The Green Fairy.

Absynthe originated in Switzerland as an elixir but was extremely popular in late 19th and early 20th century France, especially among Parisian artists and writers whose romantic associations with the drink are still evident in in popular culture.

Famous Absinthe Drinkers download mask of the ninja online
Among the many of have indulged in Absynth are Vincent Van Gogh, Edgar Allan Poe, Oscar Wilde, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, and the infamous Alisteir Crowley.

Absinthe Effects
Absinthe has long been believed to be hallucinogenic, something that has actually been refuted by tests in recent years, but still however contribute to the Absinthe myth.

There are many reports and vivid descriptions of hallucinations from poets and writers who indulged in Absinthe. The effects have been described by artists as mind opening and even hallucinogenic, and also commonly reported is a clear-headed feeling of inebriation or a lucid drunkenness.

Oscar Wilde described the feeling of having tulips on his legs after leaving a bar. Thujone, the supposed active chemical in absinthe, is a GABA antagonist and while it can produce muscle spasms in large doses, there is no evidence it causes hallucinations.

It is however speculated that Absinthe’s effects were due to poisonous chemicals being added to cheaper Absinthe products by their makers to give their products a more vivid color.

How To Prepare Absinthe
Traditionally, Absinthe is poured into a glass over a specially designed slotted spoon that is placed at the glass’ mouth. A sugar cube is then deposited in the bowl of the spoon, then ice-cold water is poured or dripped over the sugar until the drink is diluted between 3:1 to 5:1.

In the process, components that are not soluble in water (anise, fennel and star anise, come out of solution and cloud the drink, in a milky opalescence is called the louche. The adding of water is very important, as it causes the herbs to blossom and bringing out many of the flavors originally overpowered by the anise.

In addition to drinking with water poured over sugar, absinthe was a common cocktail ingredient and still is until today. One example is Ernest Hemingway’s “Death in the Afternoon” cocktail, which is prepared by pouring one jigger of Absinthe into a Champagne glass, then add iced Champagne until it attains the proper opalescent milkiness.

Absinthe For Sale In The US
Buying Absinthe online has been one of the fastest ways to purchase Absinthe, but since the approval of Absinthe for sale in the US, many liquor stores have already started carrying Absinthe, with many bars stocking up on this strong drink, together with the needed special Absinthe glasses, spoons, Absinthe fountain and other Absinthe apparatus to help quench American Absinthe drinkers’ thirst for the Green Fairy.

The headline reads “Benazir Bhutto Assassination“.

Former Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto, the first ever woman Prime Minister of an Islamic nation, was assassinated in a bomb attack at an election rally in the city of Rawalpindi. She was 54.

Harvard and Oxford-educated Bhutto was daughter of ex President and ex PM Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who was overthrown by General Mohammad Zia ul-Haq in a 1977 military coup, and was later hanged in 1979 after being convicted of having authorized the murder of an opponent. Another story about how there should be stricter gun control laws.

A news story headline reads, Football Referee Pulls Out Gun, Fires!

But this is not just about some private individual who draws a gun and fires it in the air, this is about an apparently off duty police officer in Malaysia refereeing for a football game, that turns rowdy.

The Malaysian referee took out his gun, fired warning shots in the air after a local soccer match turned unruly following the suspension of a player. A call that fans and players were unhappy about.

The referee, who was also a policeman, ran to his patrol car to get his gun after players mobbed him for showing the red-card to one of them.

The news story further reports that the policeman was taken into custody for suspected misuse of firearms.

In the Philippines just a few months ago, we heard of an off duty and drunk Police Superintendent who figures in a road mis-hap with TV news crew; an argument ensues which leads to the cop outnumbered and beaten, with the whole thing on tape. By the way, the news crew did the beating. Maybe these guys have been watching too much reality TV. The cop, rushed to find his gun in his vehicle, luckily his smart thinking companion hid it from him. Who knows what could have happened.

There are so many issues regarding gun control, some people calling for stricter laws and penalties, and I am certainly for such regulations.

However, guns don’t kill people, people with guns do; regardless of how many laws there are or how extreme the penalties, if there are people who are otherwise unfit to own or possess a gun whether they be private citizens or agents of the law… there will always be gun related incidents.

Gun control is non existent if the gun owner hardly exercises any control, or is too ignorant or arrogant to know what situations call for a gun.

So did you get it yet? Well a man from Canada did get his cell phone bill, and imagine the shock when upon tearing the darned thing open, it was for $85,000!

I know cell phone bills can get outrageous and we have heard about $3,000 cell phone bills and $10,000 cell phone bills but getting billed with an $85,000 invoice probably tops them all… and it is not a computer error either.

It’s not as hilarious though as the story than ran a few months back about a dead man who got a $218 trillion cell phone bill, yes that is indeed “trillion” as in $218,000,000,000,000

. His cellphone carrier sent him a letter telling him to settle within ten days or face legal action.

Anyways, here’s the story from Yahoo! Tech.

Piotr Staniaszek had been using his cell phone as a modem for his computer, thinking he was covered under his $10-a-month unlimited mobile browser plan from Canadian telco Bell Mobility. He actually caught the bill at $65,000. When he called to complain, he was told that it had hit $85,000 for the use since the bill was mailed.

The likely problem is that Staniaszek got understandably confused about what his recently signed $10 data plan covered. Such plans often cover data use on the phone itself (such as texting or using the built-in browser on the phone), but not when it’s used as a modem with a PC. (Without going into extreme detail, the connection types are different, and the phone company can tell the difference between the two types of traffic.) Bell Mobility has dropped the bill to just $3,243, but Staniaszek is still fighting it. (Of course.)

Staniaszek also notes that the phone company should have notified him when charges started to spiral out of control; previously he’d gotten a call when he racked up a mere $100 in charges on his old data plan. Now his bill climbs into the thousands and no one bats an eye. I’d be peeved, too.

Remember that all cell phone plans are not created equally, and “data” has numerous definitions. Before you connect your phone to your computer, make sure you understand the charges you’re setting yourself up for, and check your usage on your phone company’s website periodically (especially if you’re using your phone for something new) so that you don’t get slapped with any financial surprises.
