The Midwest Teen Sex Show is a website that provides sex education to teenagers through video podcasts about teen sexuality. The website is updated with short videos or skits where sensitive topics are discusses; topics like the first, birth control, STD’s, homosexuality, abstinence, etc.
One particular pod cast underscored the importance of trying to talk to your parents about it, and I can imagine this could be something a little awkward to do.
Admittedly teenagers of every generation are never alike, and the same outdated Sex Ed programs might not work for the teens of today, as they might have for teens of years ago. Interestingly, the Midwest Teen Sex Show is an avenue to successfully get through to teenagers about sex and sex issues, in a manner that they are both receptive to and in a language they understand.
The Midwest Teen Sex Show is produced by a group of indie producers, who might have found their own “calling card”, in the show.
The show has not however, been without criticism, with many taking offense over the pod cast themes, as well as how the funny and frank approach to sex education.
Surprisingly the show has grown in popularity with over 50,000 subscribers today, and a lot of whome are not simply teens but adults.
Regardless of what everybody says, the Midwest Teen Sex Show might be a good tool in helping teens of today understand sex and how uninformed experimentation with sex can have have very serious results.
