Smart Bro Sucks.. The Service AND Customer Service

sucks big time… I actually remembered an incident that I overlooked, which was in itself a revelation of the kind of customer service OR should I call it, “disservice” that SMART Bro has.

In late September I had to rush to the US, the trip was rather sudden and so I was unable to have my SMART Bro connection terminated. After things finally settled down over here, I tried emailing and contacting customer support to ask how I could have it terminated. This was in October already and I had no longer been using the service but I felt it was my duty to still pay for the period since I was unable to have this account terminated.

You know what is the first response I received from SMART Bro customer support.. instead of telling me straight out what to do, I was asked “WHY DID I DON’T REQUEST FOR TERMINATION BEFORE LEAVING.”

I don’t know about you but, I find this a rather silly question to ask, that at some point I thought they were scolding me for not terminating it and hence giving them a hassle.

I thought, “this can’t be right, I mean.. I am the customer, I had been paying them for their lousy service for over a year.”

Of course, I knew I had to terminate it, but given my schedules prior to departure I could not do so, and could not find anyone I could trust to do it for me since I have no immediate family in the Philippines, as they are all based in the US.

Now, this attitude reveals what poor customer service SMART Bro has.

So, after that I was advised what to do to terminate the account, and it involved the paying of an outstanding balance of up to October which I paid promptly.

Now, they are telling me that they did not disconnect it because I was unable to meet the requirements (that I had already sent them) for termination, and WANT ME TO PAY FOR AN OUTSTANDING AMOUNT FROM OCTOBER 2008 UNTIL JANUARY 2009.. and will not terminate the account and will continue to bill me (the amount will just get bigger) if I do not settle it.

So as you can see… SMART Bro Customer Service is not only bad, their attitudes are terrible, PLUS their policies are unfair and rob you with your eyes wide open.P2 release

  2. Hi Roy! I am so sorry with your encounter to Smart Bro Customer Service but in my case there is no problem so far. I am hoping that you will get recovery from this as soon as possible. hehehe Yeah. Like what I said, I read many complains about Smart Bro online. I just read one right now. Well, until here Roy!   4. hey its all me the smart bro do that to me i ask them to terminate my contract bcoz of slow service that they have i call the customer service to terminate my accout and they ask me why i said the slow service that they have and they said is already noted and i will received notice from them and pay the rest that i have now they keep sending billing to me the service that i never use i called the customer service and they told me i have to terminate in the proper things they DONT EVEN TELL ME THAT FROM THE BEGINNING whatnkind of service they have they dont inform the clients and all they have to do ans say SORRY FOR THAT the yput you in the middle of no where so the y can GRAB LOTS OF MONEY THEY WANT TO GRAB MONEY TO ALL THE PEOPLE

  8. tama tlga!!! smart bro sucks! ang sabi sa akin ung nag file ako na ok lng daw kahit kelan aq mag pa diskonek, after q nag sign ang sabi dapat mag antay q 1 year pra ma diskonek ako.. p**** nkaka badtrip! hangang ngaun nagbabayad prin aq 999 per mos.

  12. Smartbro really sucks. They disconnect my account when I didn’t paid for 2 months because I didn’t receive a billing statement. Then when I paid they said they’ll connect it again, but they didn’t connect it yet they kept on sending me a text messages and even send me a letter from the attorney. What a shame! They want you to pay the things you never used.

  14. smartbro mabilis sa una pag tumatagal mga 3 or 4 months mo palang gamit. taeng connection pa putol putol. minsan talagang wala na connection swerte mo nalang pag meron. . . . bulok ang smartbro ang bagal ng connection. mas lalo na yung smart kit gamit mo parang usb lang. awwww sa connection. super bagal o walang connection

  16. i have a bad experience in smartbro. grabe at first kala ko maganda at consistent sila. you know what happen? they send my case to a third party collection, without asking me why i didnt pay my monthly bills.. i join smartbro last november and they stop sending a billing statement last march. they didnt call me up to infrom that these… blah blah.. siguro nga may kasalanan din ako kasi hindi ko sila tinawagan din to inform na wala kong billing statement. kasi hectic ang schedule ko sa office. since trabaho nila na magbigay ng billing statement dapat gawin nila ng tama tapos pagbabayarin nila ko ng bonggang bongga? sobrang dami ng negative impact saken ng smartbro.. buti kung maganda connection eh umulan lang wala ka ng connection. they should fix this problem.

  18. oo tama kayo dyan, they really suck.. muntik ko na nga sapakin yun lalaking customer service sa Trinoma eh, pangalan nya DJ… nagsisimula pa lang ako magtanong siningitan na ko, tapos ako pa mali dahil di ko daw sinasabi ng malinaw.. di ba sobrang bastos.. malapit na mag-end ang subscription ko sa kanila, once na tawagan nila ko to renew it, makakatikim sila sa akin ng maaanghang na salita..

  20. I sent this email to smartbro, and I hope that it reaches the proper authority. The customer service agents do not want to give the name of the manger and the address or contact no., sure way of avoiding irate customers like us. I hope that all of us, dissatisfied customers will file a formal complaint against smart bro. I look for ward to having better smart bro connection or smart bro get disconnected from buisiness!!!

    Dear Ms. Sanchez:

    I write this letter as an IRATE customer of Smart Bro.

    I have had many problems with my connection but I have chosen to have Smart Bro as my internet service provider for over a year.

    I frequently encounter several problems with my internet connection in the past year and so that I am using Smart Bro. I keep calling your hotline and sometimes, after a series of instructions from your agent, I get answered and get back my internet connection. Most of the time though, I had to wait for a day or so to get a connection.

    Yesterday, I called up your hotline and after about 30 minutes of trying to check my connection, the agent told me that I will get connected within 24 hours after they fix the problem in the base station. I waited, and still got no connection. At noon today, I called up again to report about my concern and the agent answered me with the same things I got yeasterday, but still no connection.

    My issues:
    1. Your service is very unreliable. I frequently get problem with my connection and that means that I DO NOT GET THE SERVICE THAT I PAY FOR REGULARLY.
    2. I DEMAND A REBATE ON THE DAYS THAT I DO NOT GET CONNECTED. For the record, it started yesterday, but the days I did not get connection in the past were not recorded.
    3. Your CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY HARD TO CONTACT. One has to patiently wait after all the computerized messages on your end and to my DISMAY, I get disconnected after sometime. It took me more than hour to talk with your agent, and I was wasting my precious time.
    4. THE ISSUES THAT A CUSTOMER WANTS TO ESCALATE TO HIGHER MANAGEMENT SEEM TO BE IGNORED. I had to ask several times who to talk to, or who to write to about this issue and your agent is PROPERLY INSTRUCTED not to give a name or contact number or contact address. I had to insist to get a name to talk to, and your name was given. I insisted to get your email address and not the customer care ad but it was not given. How come you are so afraid to allow customers to reach you?
    In GLOBE, I had a concern about my handphone and I was able to escalate my issue to the management, and I was satisfied. They have their way to make an IRATE CUSTOMER like me feel PACIFIED. But with Smart Bro, it seems that my concern is insignificant. I cannot even talk to a higher officer who can pacify a customer. THAT IS HOW YOU TREAT CUSTOMER!!!

    I know that I am but a single customer whom you think may not deserve your attention and be left futile. I hope that you will prove me wrong.

Na-experience ko na yung bad service ng Smart Bro ngayon, thats why I googled and found this site (I should have googled before availing their service para nalaman ko kaagad na very poor pala yung service nila). When I bought their Smart Bro Prepaid Kit (yung parang USB) later this September, I was impressed since ang bilis ng connection at first pero ngayon ang hina na ng internet connection. May instances pa na bigla ka nalang madi-discon at masasayang yung P10 per 30 minutes sa load mo kasi pagna-disconnect ka kahit 1 min. lang, ang equivalent nyan is 30 minutes na kaagad so P10 yung ikakaltas sa load mo.

    A friend of mine also experience that her Smart Bro Kit hindi na raw gumagana, gaya ng mga sinasabi dito sa blog. Ang grabe pa naman ng advertisement ng Smart Bro, parang totoo talaga yun pala para lang tayong piniperahan. Bigatin pa ang mga endorsers. Sana they should do something about their service para naman di tayo ma-frustrate. Smart Communications is a big time company so nakakahiya naman pagganun ang service na ibinibigay. Sa globe tatoo kaya, ganyan din kaya? I hope I will be able to solicit your opinions on globe tatoo so I can switch my network provider. Thanks alot and more power.

  24. Smart phone and its customer service is bad I called oct 10 2009 with a call reference number of 286434055. I talk to them nicely. But the customer service, james nodado was really bad. I had a bad reception, so I actually told him that I cant hear him and then he raises his voice in such an unfriendly manner.
    BOO!!!!

  26. To all of you that have been suffering from the inflictions of SMARTBRO disservice, please visit my site and listen to my conversations with them. Perhaps, we can band together and monitor their performance until such time that we can get their preferential attention.

    The comments in this site and any similar recordings might allow us to bring our collective complaints up to the NTC for appropriate action.

    Anybody for customer action? Let’s be empowered to demand good service from our service providers.

  28. Sucky customer service… Uhmm never been this upset in my entire life…

    Disconnects every few minutes..

    One day one of the people here accidentally break the antenna or somekinda modem of this smartbro… then we call to fix it.. they came.. fixed it.. voila… kinda better than previous status… so there i was rejoicing

    just like 2 days after… SANTI came (the typhoon) so the electricity provider have to shut down the power.. so we don’t have electricity for few hours.. after that.. I tried to do some interneting after the electricity came back.. VOILA.. no internet..

    So I did some consideration, maybe because they were damage by the typhoon also… so after like 3 days… still no connection.. so i considered calling for their help..

    They picked up, and asked me some IP things.. some problems..

    Then they told me to wait for feedback after 2 hours…

    After 24 hours.. still no feedback.. so I tried calling again.. then they told me the same thing. wait for the feedback in 2 hours..

    Well I did this for 6 days… and they still do the feedback thing..

    So WHAT THE HELL IM PAYING FOR??? FOR BAD SERVICE??? what a waste of money -_-

  30. Smartbro SUCKS BIG TIME! They sent me a legal notice for not paying my internet for three months. What the H***! I spent lots of money calling their CSR and what did I get? Bad Service, rude people! One their technical staff destroyed my monitor here in cagayan de oro and they did not even apologize. SHAME ON YOU SMARTBRO. I thought you are a good company. Sue me if you want I can show my phone bills. I spent money for calling your damned customer service. If I use my smart sim, it’s always busy. SO I used my landline , and what did I get? SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME !

  34. tama lahat ng complain dito sana magkaisa o maipublish ang palpak ng smart bro sa TV. imbestigador kaya o tv patrol, o sa iba pa walang kwenta talaga ang smart bro……dapat icomplain sa NTC walang kwenta talagaSMARTBRO SUCKS

  36. hanggang ngayon terrible pa rin ang service ng smartbro. nag apply ako ng smartbro wireless broadband last january 15 and they say nag ma-iinstall nila yon after 2-4 days lang..but what the heck?! anung date na ngayon.. it’s january 21 but still wala pa rin pumupunta sa house namin para mag install samantalang malapit lang naman ung service center nila sa lugar namin.. nung pumunta ako sa center nila they say na they try to contact me but my phone “daw” is not attended.. pero nakakapag text naman sila..what a shame..hanggang ngayon naghihitay pa din ako sa response nila..bahala na..sana maumpog naman mga ulo nila at magising sa katotohanan na ganyan ang services na pinapakita nila sa mga subscribers!
